Souldern – Annunciation to the Blessed Virgin Mary

This Church of England Parish Church, often called St Mary's but more correctly called the Annunciation to the Blessed Virgin Mary, is much involved in village life at a number of levels. Church events are well attended by regular churchgoers and by other villagers. Such events as the church cheese and wine and the Harvest Supper attract large numbers. Church members are also active in other groups within the community.

The church school in Fritwell is well supported by people from Souldern. The church opening rota is designed to keep the Church accessible and beautiful. The Churchyard is also constantly visited. Many Souldern families, Church, Chapel and non-active have relatives buried in the churchyard, which keeps it in the central focus of village life and makes it an important focus for the community.
